A Graduate of Moon Valley Pony Club, Marissa Yolken is a regular instructor for Moon Valley, Woodside, Portola Valley and Pacific Ridge pony clubs. She is a Middle California regional pony club examiner thru C-2 levels and an apprentice in the National Examiner Program, specializing in the traditional and show jumping upper level ratings. Marissa loves to teach, ride and train horses and riders of all levels and styles.

Marissa began her riding career at a young age when she joined Moon Valley Pony Club. She specialized in the all around sport of Eventing, competing at the CIC* level, and was runner up for Area VI preliminary young rider of the year in 2002. Marissa spent time in England, training and showing with top jumper rider Jay Halim as well as fox hunting in Ireland. She returned and eventually joined top International Show Jumpers Helen McNaught and Duncan McFarlane at Outwoods Farms. With their guidance she was able to successfully compete at the 1.30m level jumpers at top A shows around California. In the last two years Marissa has had much success in the jumper ring with top placings in many different classes such as derbys, gamblers choice and mini prix. Marissa focuses on good horsemanship which is the foundation for all great riding. You will find Marissa competing in the hunter and jumper rings, at three day events and foxhunting with the Los Altos Hounds.

Marissa is accepting new clients and horses for training, as well as sales horses and ponies.
